Council Member <br /> <br /> introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION # <br /> <br />CONSIDER AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE A <br />PUBLIC WORKS MECHANIC <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, 25 applications were received for the Public Works Mechanic <br />position and six applicants were interviewed for the position; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, staff recommends that Mr. Nick Maras be hired for the Public Works <br />Mechanic position. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, <br /> <br />Confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to do the following: <br /> <br />Hire Nick Maras as the Public Works Mechanic at an hourly wage of $19.02 contingent <br />upon satisfactory criminal background and reference checks, a pre-employment physical <br />and a drug screen. Mr. Maras will begin employment on or near January 3, 2004 and will <br />be subject to a six-month probationary period. All other personnel polices will apply <br />normally. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council <br />Member, , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City <br />Council this the 14th day of December, 2004. <br /> <br /> <br />
