RESOLUTION AUTIIORIZING PARTICIPATION IN <br />TltE MINNESOTA POLICE RECRUITMENT SYSTEM <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of is authorized <br />by Minnesota Statutes 471.59 to enter into joint and coopera- <br />tive agreements with other governmental units; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this City Council has reviewed a joint and <br />cooperative agreement among Minnesota municipalities and <br />other law enforcement agencies which has established the <br />Minnesota Police Recruitment System (MPRS); and <br /> <br /> WHEf~AS, the purpose of the MPRS is to recruit candidates <br />for entry-level police positions in the cooperating agencies and <br />to assist the cooperating agencies in evaluating candidates for <br />these positions; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council has determined that it will be advan- <br />tageous to the City to participate in the MPRS; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of <br /> , Minnesota, as follows: <br /> <br />The Mayor and the hereby are <br />authorized to execute, on behalf of the City, the Joint <br />and Cooperative Agreement which has established the MPRS <br />and which provides for City participation therein. <br /> <br /> and hereby <br />are designated as the City's initial Director and <br />Alternate Director, respectively, in the MPRS. <br /> <br />The City Clerk hereby is directed to file a duly <br />executed copy of the Joint and Cooperative Agreement <br />as provided therein, together with a certified copy <br />of this Resolution. <br /> <br />Adopted by the City Council this <br /> <br />day of , 19 . <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
