He suggested that the City require developers to install tree fence along the entire
property line. He noted that he has committed to Mr. Giles that he will do so in this case.

Mayor Gamec requested that Mr. Peterson meet with Mr. Giles and staff to resolve the issue.

Mr. Giles stated that he has no problem with the development, he only wants the buffer zone.

COllncill11cmber Anderson stated that it would be wise to include the fencing requirement.

Principal Engineer Olson replied that they could include the requirement in the standard review
letter.

Councilmember Kurak requested that the issue be added to a City Council work session agenda.

Councilmel11ber Hendriksen inquired as to what expectations adjoining property owners should
have if there is trespassing occurring.

Principal Engineer Olson replied that he would hope the property owner would contact him
directly. If they do, he will request the contractor stop, and if the contractor is unwilling to stop
he will have had the police stop the contractor.

City CounciVMay 28, 2002
