He has completed the <br />probationary period satisfactorily. The Personnel Committee recommended approval. <br /> <br />9) Consider Authorizing Benefits Contracts for 2005 <br /> <br />Iquman Resources Manager Reed indicated the City currently receives health, dental and life <br />insurance benefits through Blue Cross Blue Shield, Delta Dental and the Standard respectively. <br />Staff is recommending that the City remain with these three companies for benefits in 2005. In <br />addition, this year, staff is introducing a new benefit: an employee assistance program (EAP) <br />administered by T.E.A.M. The purpose of the employee assistance program is to provide <br />employees with confidential counseling services related to marriage, stress, finances, legal <br />issues, etc. Also, in the past the City has administered its flexible spending plan in-house. <br />Staff is proposing that the flexible spending plan be out-sourced to Passport for 2005.
