Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Councilmember Anderson, to close the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Kurak, Anderson, Hendriksen, <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />The public hearing closed at 7:33 p.m. <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular City Council meeting back to order at 7:33 p.m. <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson noted that a violation is a misdemeanor punishable by 90 days in jail <br />or a fine of $700. She asked if a judge is limited to this or if the language should include "up to" <br />90 days in jail or "up to" a fine of $700. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich stated this would be the maximum and the ,~udge would have latitude to <br />find something less. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated his willingness to consider a trailway if that is found to be feasible. <br /> <br />Councihnember Anderson noted that many residents trailer their snowmobiles and use them in a <br />different area, not in Ramsey. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec concurred that is the case. <br /> <br />Councihnember Kurak asked if you can snowmobile on your own property even if you are <br />located within the restricted area. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that is correct and the property owner can also give written permission to <br />someone else to snowmobile on their property. <br /> <br />Councihnember Kurak stated she does not want to restrict a person's rights to use their own <br />property. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich stated it would not remove property rights. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Anderson, to introduce the ordinance <br />authorizing the change in Ramsey City Ordinance 6.04, renaming the ordinance and further <br />restricting the use of recreational vehicles in the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />City Council/June 11, 2002 <br /> Page 7 of 30 <br /> <br /> <br />
