Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Mayor Gamec, to adopt Ordinance #02-28 <br />creating density transition standards. <br /> <br />A roll call vote was performed by the Recording Secretary: <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen aye <br />Councilmember Anderson aye <br />Councihnember Kurak aye <br />Councihnember Zimmerrnan nay <br />Mayor Gamec aye <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated that he did not feel they were adopting a density transition <br />ordinance, in his opinion it was more a screening ordinance. He felt it was a mask with elections <br />being around the corner. <br /> <br />Councihnember Hendriksen replied that he agreed with Councilmember Zimmerman, but the <br />reason he voted in favor of the ordinance is because he felt "a half a loaf of bread is better than a <br />whole loaf of bread." <br /> <br />Case #8: Adopt Ordinance Vacating Certain City Street <br /> <br />City Engineer Olson stated that as part of the discussion about the expansion of the Public Works <br />facility, staff was directed to proceed with the process to combine the north and south facilities to <br />accommodate the City's need for additional space for Public Works. Probable future public <br />purpose for this segment can be protected with the use of drainage and utility easements. A <br />public hearing was held on the proposed vacation on July 23, 2002, and no comments were <br />offered.
