Councilmember Hendriksen inquired as to what types of units were being proposed along 149th <br />Avenue. <br /> <br />Mr. Dommer replied that they could be detached townhomes or twinhomes. He inquired as to <br />what Mr. Hendriksen would prefer. <br /> <br />Counci hnember Hendriksen replied that he would like to hear from the neighborhood. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that carriage homes have become very popular in the area. <br /> <br />Mr. Dommer replied that the carriage homes do fit a particular life style. He stated that he would <br />be open to bringing a few of the carriage homes into the development, if the Council is <br />interested. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that he has seen where tot lots become a large burden. He liked the concept <br />of trails and wetlands. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated that the County has allowed for six accesses along C.R. #116 <br />and inquired if the entrance would be setup as a designated intersection for the property to the <br />south. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik replied that the access would be one of the six allowed <br />onto C.R. # 116. She noted that the plan had been sent to the County. <br /> <br />Councihnember Zimmerman stated that in the future, C.R. #116 would probably become a four- <br />lane, divided highway so noise barriers might become an issue. <br /> <br />Mr. Dommer replied that he did not see a need for sound barriers. He explained that they would <br />be providing a landscaping plan desirable to the community. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec inquired if they were looking at a majority of the units being six units to a block. <br /> <br />Mr. Dommer replied that they intend to provide a housing mix of six, four and eight unit <br />buildings. They are also considering some detached and traditional character as well. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that he did not think that they would want an access road onto Ramsey <br />Boulevard from the development. <br /> <br />City Engineer Olson replied that that is why they asked for access to the property to the south <br />and east. <br /> <br />Councihnember Anderson inquired if there has been any consideration given to incorporating <br />some of the less expensive housing in with more expensive housing. <br /> <br />City Council/September 11, 2002 <br /> Page 19 of 31 <br /> <br /> <br />
