there method is in trying to create a tree preservation ordinance and what the time line is to have
a complete ordinance for Council consideration.

Councilmember Zimmerman inquired if the wetland-buffering ordinance would be worked on at
the same time as the tree preservation ordinance.

Mr. McDilda replied no, explaining that they were currently focusing all their attention on the
tree preservation ordinance.

Mayor Gamec inquired if the wetland ordinance would have to be created in conjunction with the
watershed district.

Councihnember Anderson stated that it might be helpful for the Task Force to be aware of the
activities of the watershed district.

Councilmember Kurak inquired if the wetland-buffering ordinance would be identifying the type
of wetlands the ordinance would apply to or how is the Task Force planning on approaching that
issue.

Mr. McDilda replied that the Task Force had not discussed the intent of the wetland-buffering
ordinance as of yet. He explained that when the Task Force is ready to move forward on the
wetland-buffering ordinance, they will come before the Council to discuss the issue further.

Councihnember Kurak inquired if the Task Force intends on presenting draft ordinances to the
Council throughout the process to make sure they are on the same track.

Mr. McDilda replied yes, he felt that that was an important part of the process.

CITIZEN INPUT

Gary Gruber, Diamonds Sports Bar, and Frank Fredricks, thanked the Council, Ramsey Police
Department and Fire Department for their support with the 4t~' of July Fun Fest event held at
Diamonds Sports Bar. He stated that the Departments were a tremendous help in making the
event a success. They apologized for not coming forward sooner.

Mayor Gamec replied that it was an excellent event.

Shirley Kampa, 17362 Rabbit Street, stated that she was looking for clarification on the City's
noise ordinance. She explained that her neighborhood has had the Police out to the
neighborhood several times over the summer because of monster trucks in their neighborhood
making a lot of noise. From what she understands the Officers presently are unable to do
anything about the situation.

City Council/September 11, 2002
