Community Spotlight: Continued The City of Ramsey Foundation was formed in 2005 and incorporated as a 501-c3 in 2006. The Foundation is comprised of a nine -member Board of Directors, led by President and Treasurer, Duane Larson, Vice President Al Pearson and Secretary Kevin Bittner. The City of Ramsey Foundation was created to support economic development as well as other activities to improve the general welfare of the City of Ramsey and its citizens. Our work: Since 2010, establishing a summer con- cert series at The Draw park has been a primary project for The Foun- dation. Over the past several years The Founda- tion has devel- oped partnerships with many local business sponsors and other supporters to build The Draw Summer Event Series into a successful community program. The Trott Brook Bene- fit Bash was incorporated into the program, dedicating one concert each summer to raising funds for the Anoka Area Chamber Anne Talle scholarship fund and Youth First Community of Promise. In addition, Coborn's hosts a Customer Appreciation Cook -Out at one of the concerts annually in conjunction with the Ramsey Rota- ry to support the ACBC food shelf. The City of Ram- sey Foundation hosts the annual Happy Days Pancake Breakfast to help raise funds for the cost of the concerts. Another major project that The City of Ramsey Foun- dation supports is the Heart -Safe Ramsey program. Heart -Safe is dedicated to providing CPR training and equipment to the public, for use in case of sudden cardiac arrest anywhere within the City. How to get involved: The Foundation encourages those interested in these projects to join the Board of Di- rectors. The board meets monthly on the third Tuesday of the month, at 7:30 am at Bolton & Menk Engineering in The COR. You may also contact President Duane Larson at 612-590-3371 for more information. Business Spotlight: Your Computer Hero Your Computer Hero opened shop in Ramsey's Northstar Market Place located in The COR, in late October, 2017. Owners Bill and Jenna MacLennan have been operat- ing the busi- ness out of their home in Ramsey since 2004. After 13 years of growing their business, the MacLennans are excited to welcome customers to their first storefront location. "We have always been located in Ramsey and chose the downtown location for our storefront because of the traf- fic and growth happening in the area," Jenna explained. Your Computer Hero currently has three full time employees. Their shop features new and refurbished computers for sale, a tech area where staff -can work on customers' computers, and a call center where they offer remote support for business clients. The company's tech- nology services for businesses include onsite services, re- mote support, as well as networking, servers and firewall installation and maintenance. They also offer computer repairs to all customers such as virus removal, hardware, software and data recovery.
