3) <br /> <br />Authorize Internal Recruitment of a Police First Sergeant <br />The Personnel Committee recommended that the City Council adopt Resolution #02-11- <br />303 authorizing the promotion of Sergeant Tim DWyer to the position of Police First <br />Sergeant. <br /> <br />4) Authorize Internal Recruitment for the Position of PoliCe CorpOral <br /> The Personnel Committee recommended that the City Council adopt Resolution #02-11- <br /> 304 authorizing the internal recruitment of a full-time Police.Corporal position. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Anderson, seconded .by COuncilmember Hendriksen, to ratify the <br />recommendations of the Personnel Committee. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, CoUncilmembers Anderson, Hendriksen, Kurak, <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #9: <br /> <br />Met Council Livable Communities Grant <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated that the City has received verbal notifiCation that the City will <br />be receiving a $800,000 grant. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen inquired if the grant was for the construction of Sunwood Drive. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman replied yes. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen inquired if it would cost around $5 million to construct Sunwood <br />Drive. <br /> <br />Principal Planner Trudgeon replied yes. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that they need to understand that $800,000 is °nly 20 percent <br />of the cost to construct Sunwood Drive. He inquired as to what the City's plan was to pay the <br />balance of the amount. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec replied that that is something they will have to discuss, but until they decide what <br />they are going to do with the tOwn center they can't proceed. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen cautioned that unless an improvement project is petitioned by the <br />property owners, the City is limited as to the costs that can be assessed.
