Councilmember Elvig inquired aboUt the size of the units. Mr. Strandlund replied the units Will be ramblers with 1,500 to 1,600 square feet on the main level with finished basements. Dave Johnson, 15423 Potassium Street, qu~/stioned when Potassium Street was determined to be a public road. City Attorney Goodrich replied the· City has maintained the road for some time. He indicated he will provide Mr. Johnson with his ,research 0. n the road. Mr. Johnson stated he does not:believe Potassium Street is a pUblic street. Also, he feels Potassium Street should be moved to b© right down the property line. Councilmember Pearson asked if there is a City: ordinance that requires all roads in the City to be centered on the property line. Assistant Public Works Director O!son replied it is typical in the City to center the roads, but it is not required by ordinance. Mr. Johnson stated this development woUld 'include 52 units and half of the traffic would be coming down Potassium Street, as well as the 221 units next to him. He Stated the traffic should be routed on CR 5 some other way. Mayor Gamec replied one of the Problems WOuld be getting the county to grant access to CR 5, however, Mr. Johnson's comments will be reviewed. Patrick Hampton, 15551 Potassium Street,i stated he will be right across the street from this abomination if it goes in. His father spent the money putting Potassium Street in. If he recalls, after the City maintains a road for seven years it becomes a public road, however, in the 80's his father repeatedly asked the City not to maintain the road. The City continued to maintain the road and is now saying they own the road. ,He :stated their property line is 30 feet from the road and now more of their property Will be taken. He thinks the road should be centered on the property line. Also, after these developers gte long gone and have made their money, someone will say this road cannot handle the volume and assess the property owners to widen the road. t-Ie stated he is not opposed to the .builder~ deVeloping their property, but this development is pretty high density. His final POint is if ,this development is built as it is presented it will substantially reduce the resale of hiS property because of the high density housing next to it. The landowners will have to live with the consequences of the builder's actions. Councilmember Elvig asked if Mr, Hampton is against the road being public and paved if it is centered.
