The position was advertised in the Ramsey <br />Resident, the Anoka Shopper, and the City website. Fourteen letters of interest were received. <br />The top six applicants were offered interviews and five were interviewed. Based on the <br />evaluation panel's results, staff is recommending the appointment of Gary Levine to the Planning <br />Commission. This was also the recommendation 0fthe Personnel Committee. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />Consider Reclassification of Fire Inspector Position and Pay Scale for Fire Marshal <br />Position <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson reviewed that as a part of the 2005 budget process, staff <br />discussed with Council the need to evaluate job descriptions for a number of City positions. <br />Staff included in the 2005 budget, which was approved at the regular meeting of the City Council <br />on December 14, 2004, funds to. cover the costs of potential pay scale adjustments for these <br />positions. One of these positions is the Fire Marshal position. The Fire Marshal is a new title for <br />thc existing Fire Inspector position. The position of the Fire Inspector is not funded to be filled <br />as a part of the 2005 budget. Staff has updated the job description for the Fire Marshal position <br />and evaluated it for points associated with pay equity. Staff has also completed an analysis for <br />the comparable pay scale in the Stanton 6 GroUp Cities Report as well as relational pay within <br />thc City of Ramsey organization. Staff is recommending reclassifying the Fire Inspector position <br />to Fire Marshal.
