fi'om the current range of $21.91:- $27.38 per :hour for the Fire Inspector position to $23.46 - <br />$30.50 per hour for the Fire Marshal position: This was also the recommendation of the <br />Personnel Committee. : <br /> <br />3) Itealth Insurance Contributions for LELs Patrol Members <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson explained at the regular Council meeting of January 25, <br />2005, staff presented a case for considcrafi0n'of the City's health insurance contribution for <br />AFSCME and non-union personnel. Staff ind/~catcd that negotiations with the City's LELS <br />?atrol and the new LELS Sergeants unit were ongoing. Staff has reached agreement with the <br />LELS Sergeants unit on their new contract, which includes the same health insurance <br />contribution approved for AFSCME and non-union personnel that was approved by Council at <br />the January 25, 2005 regular meeting as .$630,00 for family coverage and $380.17 for single <br />100% plan and $352.09 for single 90/10% plam Staff is recommending approval of the same <br />contribution for LELS Patrol members. It was ~e recommendation of the Personnel Committee <br />that City Council approve the City contribt~tiO, n of Single: $380.17 (100% Plan) $352.09 <br />(90/10% Plan) and Family: $630.00. The health insurance contribution will be effective January <br />I, 2005 - December 31, 2005. <br /> <br />Cmmcihnember Elvig inquired if the Fire InSpector change to Fire Marshal is a slight change in <br />status that has been budgeted. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson responde& in the affirmative. She explained the 2005 <br />budget included $7,500 to deal with pay scale adjustments for a number of positions, and this <br />item is included in the amount. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember COok, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Personnel Committee in Cases 1 through 3 and adopt Resolution #05-02- <br />057 to appoint Gary Levine to the Planning Commission; adopt Resolution #05-02-058 to <br />authorize reclassifying the Fire Inspector positionto Fire Marshal, and to authorize the following <br />pay scale for the Fire Marshal position: <br /> <br />Position Current Range of Fire Inspector: Proposed Range of Fire Marshal <br />Fire Marshal $21.91 - $27.38 pet hour $23.46 - $30.50 per hour <br /> <br />and adopt Resolution #05-02-059 to approve the City contribution health insurance for LELS- <br />Patrol of Single: $380.17 (100% Plan) $352.09 (90/10% Plan) and Family: $630.00. The health <br />insurance contribution will be effective January 1,; 2005 - December 31, 2005. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Cook, Olson, Elvig, Jeffi'ey, <br />Pearson, and Strommen.
