Assistant City Administrator Nelson' explained staff has been working with the staff at LOGIS (Local Government Information Services) for the design of the technology services for the facility. The City is currently a member 0f;LOGIS for network administration services, web- hosting, financial systems, and .building permit software systems. LOGIS has submitted a proposal for completing the design for technologY at a cost not to exceed $6,000. Assistant City Administrator Nelson explained the City currently utilizes 800mhz radios for public safety communication andiNextel phones for public works, city staff and public safety cell phone and direct connect services. Giventhe City's reliance on these communication networks, the need to provide an antenna .booster within the building that will serve both 800mhz and Nextel bas been identified. Sta~ff has met with a representative from PSC Alliance, Inc. To perform the design services for the antennae booster system for the entire Municipal Center. The cost of the design services is estimated nolte exceed $8,500. Assistant City AdminiStrator Nelson explained at the suggestion of 3D/I and as discussed with City Council during the work session of February 1, 2005, proposals for Commission Agent services were solicited on behalf of the City. ,Two proposals were received from the firms of Hallberg Engineering and Karges-FaulcOnbridge. Staff recommends Karges-Faulconbridge based upon the analysis of 3D/I. Mayor Gamec informed the residents this information has been reviewed several times and details are available at City Hall. Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey, to authorize contracts for the following Municipal Center design services: · LOGIS for technology design services in an amount not to exceed $6,000.00 · SecuriCo Inc. for security design services in an amount not to exceed $20,000.00 · ['SC Alliance Inc. for radio frequency design services in an amount not to exceed $8,500.00 · Karges-Faulconbridge for Commissioning Agent services based upon work session discussion and staff/construction manager recommendation. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Cook, Jeffrey, Elvig, Olson, Pearson, and Strommen. Voting No: None. Further discussion: Mayor Gamec directed staff to put together a presentation for cable television with the consultants present. Assistant City Administrator Nelson indicated a portion of the next Work Session in Review will be dedicated to discuss the Municipal Center project. Case #16: Consider Adoption of Ordinance for Sale of Outlots B, & C and Part of Outlot W in Ramsey Town Center Addition City Attorney Goodrich reviewed that the City Council met in a special meeting on Tuesday, February 15, 2005 to introduce an ordinance to sell Outlets B and C and part of Outlet W in the City Council/February 22, 2005 Page 20 of 31
