Assistant City Administrator Nelson' explained staff has been working with the staff at LOGIS <br />(Local Government Information Services) for the design of the technology services for the <br />facility. The City is currently a member 0f;LOGIS for network administration services, web- <br />hosting, financial systems, and .building permit software systems. LOGIS has submitted a <br />proposal for completing the design for technologY at a cost not to exceed $6,000. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson explained the City currently utilizes 800mhz radios for <br />public safety communication andiNextel phones for public works, city staff and public safety cell <br />phone and direct connect services. Giventhe City's reliance on these communication networks, <br />the need to provide an antenna .booster within the building that will serve both 800mhz and <br />Nextel bas been identified. Sta~ff has met with a representative from PSC Alliance, Inc. To <br />perform the design services for the antennae booster system for the entire Municipal Center. The <br />cost of the design services is estimated nolte exceed $8,500. <br /> <br />Assistant City AdminiStrator Nelson explained at the suggestion of 3D/I and as discussed with <br />City Council during the work session of February 1, 2005, proposals for Commission Agent <br />services were solicited on behalf of the City. ,Two proposals were received from the firms of <br />Hallberg Engineering and Karges-FaulcOnbridge. Staff recommends Karges-Faulconbridge <br />based upon the analysis of 3D/I. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec informed the residents this information has been reviewed several times and <br />details are available at City Hall. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey, to authorize contracts for <br />the following Municipal Center design services: <br /> <br /> · LOGIS for technology design services in an amount not to exceed $6,000.00 <br /> · SecuriCo Inc. for security design services in an amount not to exceed $20,000.00 <br /> · ['SC Alliance Inc. for radio frequency design services in an amount not to exceed <br /> $8,500.00 <br /> · Karges-Faulconbridge for Commissioning Agent services based upon work session <br /> discussion and staff/construction manager recommendation. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Cook, Jeffrey, Elvig, Olson, <br />Pearson, and Strommen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Mayor Gamec directed staff to put together a presentation for cable <br />television with the consultants present.
