Flintwood Terrace Park <br /> Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood stated the two shelters were completed along with the <br /> underground irrigation. The drinking fountain arrived and will be installed. The electrical bid <br /> came in under budget and all the electrical is done. Benches will be done next week. <br /> Lake Itasca Trail & Trail Head <br /> Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood stated this has a new section that is part of the Capital <br /> Improvement Plan. He explained the bid process to the Commission for this. <br /> Lake Itasca Trail Boardwalk <br /> Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood noted this will also be another section of the maintenance <br /> program and they are hoping to get these done this fall. <br /> Commissioner Olds asked if there was any way to prevent critters from digging under the trail. <br /> Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood stated they could dig and put in wire but it would be fairly <br /> expensive. He stated the Kiosk will be a subject of a college student' agenda this year and will <br /> be updated periodically <br /> River's Bend Park <br /> Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood stated the Youth Association just delivered smaller soccer <br /> nets so they will be taking out the larger ones. He stated they have replaced some of the pier <br /> deck boards. <br /> Riverdale Park <br /> Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood explained they will have two shelters at this park, one will <br /> be by the playground equipment. He stated they will also put trails in to connect this park to the <br /> neighborhoods. He did not think Ag lime was appropriate anymore because he did not see this as <br /> being a good softball field. By leaving it turf and irrigating it, will give them more opportunity <br /> for other things. He noted progress is being made. <br /> Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood noted they had volunteers watering and weeding in this <br /> park also. <br /> Solstice Park <br /> Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood noted the back stop was completed and irrigation was <br /> done. He showed the Commission an aluminum "winter snowflake" sculpture they designed and <br /> the Commission thought it would compliment the "sun" sculpture in the park well. <br /> Park and Recreation Commission/September 9,2004 <br /> Page 5 of 8 <br />
