Chairperson Johns asked if they were working with the school to see what their needs were. <br /> <br />Ms. Bartels stated they are but she does not know how it will work out financially. <br /> <br /> <br />Concept Plan West <br /> <br /> <br />Ms. Bartels asked if they Commission would like fishing or swimming in that area. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ostrum stated he would like to see it a swimming area. <br /> <br />Commissioner Johns stated they should make it zero entrance but to have it a little deeper with a <br />spray deck. <br /> <br />Commissioner LaMere asked how deep they could go without having a lifeguard. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns stated they might just need to post a sign stating no lifeguard. <br /> <br />Commissioner Olds stated he thought four feet would be deep enough. <br /> <br />Ms. Bartels stated there are regulations that they would need to follow and she did not know if <br />this would impact parking. <br /> <br />Commissioner Lehman stated he did not envision this to be an activity center where people would <br />spend the day. <br /> <br />Commissioner Shryock stated if the swimming hole is unique enough; the City will be getting <br />groups of people on a nice day to the area. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns stated she did not want to see parking within the space. <br /> <br />Ms. Bartels stated there will be parking along the outside of the space. <br /> <br />Commissioner Olds stated the there was an issue he saw in the area which was a picnic area next <br />to the community garden because he thought if people went to picnic they might be inclined to <br />pick the vegetation thinking it was alright to do so. <br /> <br />Commissioner Shryock asked if they could put the community garden into another green space <br />they have and use this area for open space. <br /> <br />Ms. Bartels stated the gardens in the town center park would be more floral display. <br /> <br />Commissioner Johns stated she would prefer a more natural display with a butterfly garden or a <br />grove of trees.
