No action is <br />needed al this time. <br /> <br />4) Feasibility Report for Welcome's Road Street Grading and Paving Improvements <br /> <br />Assistant l~ublic Works Director Olson reported the feasibility report for Welcome's Road Street <br />Grading and Paving Improvements was reviewed with the Public Works Committee. It was <br />indicated thc project cost is estimated at approximately $141,000, with the City share at <br />approximately $70,500. The remaining $70,500 would be assessed equally among the 19 <br />benefiting property owners. The City's portion of funds would come from the General Fund. It <br />was als() noted that an informational meeting was held with the residents in the fall of 2004 and <br />that a copy o£ this feasibility report with a letter will be sent to each of the residents on <br />Welcomc's Road. Thc recommendation of the Public Works Committee was that the City <br />Council approve the feasibility report for Welcome's Road Street Grading and Paving <br />Improvements and order the public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion by Councihncmber Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Public Works Committee in Cases 2 through 4 to authorize staff to <br />continue to work with MnDOT to modify the profile of TH 47, and to approve the feasibility <br />report I'or Wclcome's Road Street Grading and Paving Improvements. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Elvig, Cook, Olson, Pearson, and <br />Strommen. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberJeffrey. <br /> <br />5) Review of 2005 Public Works Objectives and Work Plan <br /> <br />I'ublic W¢)rks Director Kapler explained the 2005 Public Works Objectives and Work Plan were <br />reviewed with thc Public Works Committee. The Committee provided some good ideas. One <br />concern was the level of service to the City. It was stressed that there should not be a reduction <br />in thc level oF service to any portion of the City. There was discussion of the need for water <br />filtralion at some point in time. Regarding the Parks Work Plan there was discussion about tree <br />conservation. Trees will be identified to be saved with developments coming into the City. <br /> <br />(;ouncilmcmbcr Elvig explained the notion was to be more proactive about tree preservation and <br />banking lhc trccs for future projects in other areas. <br /> <br />I'ublic Works Director Kapler indicated this will be incorporated into the subdivision review <br />chccl<list and will be part of the normal process. <br /> <br />Council action necessary. <br /> <br />City Council/March 8, 2005 <br /> Page 17 of 18 <br /> <br /> <br />
