Absent: CouncilmemberJe~'frey. <br /> <br />Case #16: Report fi'om Personnel Committee <br /> <br /> I ) Consideration of a Resolution Accepting the Resignation of the Senior <br /> Accountant and Authorizing Staff to Begin the Recruitment Process for an <br /> Acconntant I <br /> <br />Councihnember Cook explained the Personnel Committee recommended the City Council accept <br />thc resignation of the Senior Accountant and grant authorization to begin the recruitment process <br />to hire an Accountant I to replace the Senior Accountant position. <br /> <br /> 2) Consider Authorization to Hire Parks Maintenance Worker <br /> <br />('ouncihnember Cook explained as part of the 2005 budget, on December 14, 2004, the City <br />Council authorized the creation of two Public Works Maintenance Worker positions. Staff <br />received authorization to begin the recruitment process for the two positions. An internal <br />recrmtment process was conducted; two applications were received and interviews were <br />conducted. An external recruitment process was conducted for the second, position. Nineteen <br />interviews were conducted and staff is recommending that Terry Byron, Jr. be hired as a Parks <br />Maintenan. ce Worker. The Personnel Committee 'recommended that staff be granted <br />authorization to hire Terry Byron as a Parks Maintenance Worker at an hourly wage not to <br />exceed $16.51. Mr. Byron will begin employment on or after April 27, 2005. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Pearson, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Personnel Committee in Cases 1 and 2, to adopt Resolution #05-04-099 <br />to accept Linda Mayer's resignation from her position as Senior Accountant effective April 8, <br />2005, tv) grant authorization to begin the recruitment process to hire an Accountant I to replace <br />the Senior Accountant position, and to 'adopt Resolution #05-04-100 granting authorization to <br />h/re Terry Byron as a Parks Maintenance Worker at an hourly wage not to exceed $16.51. Mr. <br />I¢yron will begin employment on or after April 27, 2005. This appointment will be contingent <br />upon successful completion of criminal and driver's license background checks, reference <br />cheeks, and passing a pre-employment physical and drug screen. Al1 other personnel policies <br />will apply normally. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Pearson, Cook, Elvig, Olson, and <br />Strommen. Voting No: None.
