A landscaping plan will need to be submitted for the proposed equipment building and is subject <br />to City approval.. Staff will be requesting an extensive landscape plan around the equipment <br />building in order to provide screening from the future residential development. <br /> <br />The site plan indicates that a fence will be constructed around the A/C units that are outside of the <br />building. Staff is recommending that the fence be constructed out of a wood privacy material or <br />materials that closely match the exterior wall finishes on the building. <br /> <br />The applicant is proposing to utilize an existing driveway to access the equipment building. There <br />will be no personnel stationed at the site on a permanent basis. <br /> <br />The City Attorney is currently reviewing the proposed lease agreement from Verizon Wireless. <br />Verizon Wireless is currently proposing to enter into a lease agreement with the City of Ramsey <br />for water tower and equipment space in the amount of $12,732.00 annually. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />City Staff recommends approval of the request contingent upon an approved landscape plan, the <br />fence being constructed out of materials that provide 100% screening from surrounding <br />properties, and the City entering into a lease agreement with Verizon Wireless. <br /> <br />Commission Action: <br /> <br />Motion to recommend that the City Council adopt Findings of Fact relating to a request from <br />Verizon Wireless for a conditional use permit to install a cellular antenna system on the City water <br />tower and construct a 12' by 30' equipment building on City owned property. <br /> <br />-and- <br /> <br />Motion to recommend that the City Council approve the request for a conditional use permit and <br />adopt a resolution declaring terms of same. <br /> <br />-or- <br /> <br />Motion to recommend that the City Council deny the request for a conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />Community Development Director <br />Principal Planner <br /> <br />PC: 04/03/01' <br /> <br />Copies To: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />City Attorney <br />Public Works Director <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor <br /> <br /> <br />
