The public hearing adjourned at 8:05 p.m. <br /> <br />Commission Business <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Kociscak and seconded by Chairperson Nixt to recommend that City <br />Council adopt Findings of Fact favorable to the applicant. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Chairperson Nixt referred to issues raised at the public hearing regarding <br />erosion control. Commissioner Reeve replied that if the applicant follows the terms of the <br />proposed permit, there should be no problem. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Kociscak, Reeve, Watson, and <br />and Wivoda. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Johnson and Griffiths. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Kociscak and seconded by Commissioner Wivoda to recommend that <br />City Council grant a conditional use permit to North Fork for grading and exporting soils from <br />the proposed plat of St. Andrews Addition. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Chairperson Nixt inquired if the $5,000 standard surety should be increased. <br />Mr. Jankowski stated that the City has never encountered a situation where the surety for a <br />grading permit had to be drawn upon. However, Mr. Jankowski also noted that because of <br />staffing levels, enforcement was not always what it should have been. He continued to state that <br />the staffing level in the Engineering Department has increased and enforcement will be more <br />diligent. Chairperson Nixt stated that the surety amount should be increased in this case because <br />of the size of the project; Staff should determine an appropriate surety amount before the permit <br />goes to City Council for approval. <br /> <br />Motion Carried.
