Shannon David, 14560 Junkite, Ramsey, stated that everyone of his eoncems have been
addressed. He thanked Mr. Black for highlighting the neighborhood concerns. He stated that he
does think that Mr. Black is interested in working with the neighborhood, but his main concern
has to do with the trees and the wetlands. He stated that if he would have known the higher
density would be going in, he would have not purchased his lot. He stated a formal tree
preservation plan needs to be put in place by the City and would like to see the retention pond
relocated because his neighbor has spent over $20,000 to create the landscape around his house
and now he would have a drainage pond abut it. His last concern had to do with the small lot on
the peninsula. He stated that the quality of the homes in the beginning of this development were
good quality, but the smaller lots brought small homes and many of those people do not maintain
their properties.

John Strommen, 14546 Krypton Street, Ramsey, stated that he moved to Ramsey this year for the
trees and wetlands. With a lack of a buffer between the houses and wetlands they will have a
green smelly mess because of the fertilizers that drain into them. He stated that he hoped that
they could leave as many trees as possible and require a buffer zone between the development
and the wetlands.

Jim Norman, 14451 Potassium Street, Ramsey, stated that he lives across from the peninsula and
run the trails everyday. He stated that he is in support of the proposed development and felt that
they have done a good job at putting together a quality development.

Hillary Gonsior, 5741 145th Court, Ramsey, expressed concern over the lack of the green space
along the peninsula. She stated that currently they see a wooded area with wildlife and if they
remove the trees they will see the dump. She explained that they moved into Ramsey because of
the surroundings in the areas and they were told that they could not build on the site across form
their property. She inquired if there would be a size limit placed on the house and if not she
would recommend splitting the lot. She also inquired if the City will be requiring that
homeowners put in a lawn, because there are current residents that have lived in the City for
three years and have done nothing with their yards. She also did not agree that the development
will have minimal traffic impact on the area.

Robert Sjoberg, 5731 145th Court, Ramsey, stated that he had met with Mr. Black and
appreciated the time he spent addressing the neighbors concerns. He stated that he liked the
overall concept of the development, including the senior housing. From the townhome
standpoint he felt that Shade Tree Construction was a good developer: He explained that his
concern with the development has to do with an area that should not be touched. He stated that
every study that had been done regarding the development has been paid for by the developer.
Nothing has been done on an independent basis. Mr. Sjoberg stated that he would like to see a
more independent study done on traffic as well as with the soil borings. He is opposed to
dropping homes into a wetland area. Across from his house three lots are proposed and he does
not think that the lots are large enough to accommodate a decent size house. He requested that
an independent environmental study be done of the area.

Planning Commission/June 5, 2001
