The public hearing closed at 8:52 p.m. <br /> <br />Commission Business <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt called the regular meeting of the Planning Commission back to order at 8:52 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Johnson to recommend that the City <br />Council adopt the Findings of Fact favorable to the applicant relating to a request to rezone the <br />subject property from B-1 Business to R-3U Multiple Family Residential. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Brauer, Sweet, and <br />Watson. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Kociscak and Reeve. <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Johnson to recommend that the City <br />Council approve the request to rezone the subject property from B-1 Business to R-3U Multiple <br />Family Residential, based on the findings of facts. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Absent: Commissioners Kociscak and Reeve. <br /> <br />Case #5: <br /> <br />Request for a Comprehensive Plan Amendment; Case of Orrin Thompson <br />Homes <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt closed the regular portion of the Planning Commission meeting at 8:54 p.m. in <br />order to call the public hearing to order. <br /> <br />Public Hearin~ <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt called the public hearing to order at 8:54 p.m. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Community Development Assistant Wald noted that Orrin Thompson Homes is asking for an <br />amendment to the 1995 Comprehensive Plan to allow for a medium density townhouse <br />development on property owned by Marlene Katnis. The 1995 Comprehensive Plan indicates <br />that the subject property is designated for commercial uses. Orrin Thompson Homes is asking <br />that the land use designation be changed to allow for medium density residential development <br />that would not exceed 7 dwelling units per acre. The March 2001 Draft of the Comprehensive <br />Plan shows the subject property designated for medium density residential and therefore the <br />proposed development is consistent with the March 2001 Draft Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Johnson, to close the public hearing. <br /> <br />Planning Commission/November 5, 2001 <br /> Page 14 of 20 <br /> <br /> <br />
