MINIM <br /> Work Program <br /> City Council: The City Council is authorized to adopt the comprehensive plan <br /> with a majority vote of the Council. <br /> Meetings with the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee <br /> It is proposed that the City enlist members for the Citizens Advisory Committee <br /> (CAC)from the numerous committees and commissions that presently exist and <br /> others as needed in Ramsey. The CAC Committee would provide input and <br /> -' reaction to the work of the staff and consultants throughout the planning process. <br /> It is recommended that some members of the Planning Commission and City <br /> Council be on the Advisory Committee. <br /> Facilitate four evening meetings to review and refine the analysis of conditions <br /> and identification of issues. <br /> .1.11111 <br /> Visioning Exercise with the Citizens Advisory Committee <br /> At one of the early meeting with the Comprehensive Plan Citizens Advisory <br /> Committee(CAC)conduct an exercise to elicit and record ideas about the future <br /> of Ramsey. Capture all ideas,not just those that are directly related to the <br /> elements of the comprehensive plan. Use a"nominal-group"brainstorming <br /> technique to promote the unrestricted flow of ideas. Review and summarize the <br /> key ideas and themes with the participants. Prepare a written summary for the <br /> Planning Commission and staff. <br /> Community Forum #1: Analysis,Issues,Alternatives and Concept Plan <br /> Community Forum#1 should be Saturday morning affair in a large meeting <br /> room. This event might include: <br /> • Large maps of all the analysis materials on the walls with"docents"to <br /> explain and answer questions <br /> • Results of the community opinion Web-based survey <br /> • Continuously running slide show about Ramsey <br /> • The conceptual alternatives <br /> • A PowerPoint show and presentation explaining the analysis of conditions, <br /> the alternatives and the draft Concept Plan <br /> • Comment cards for citizens to record their thoughts <br /> • Fun events for children—draw a future Ramsey <br /> • Pastries, coffee and juice <br /> • Elected and appointed officials and senior staff available to hear comments <br /> McCombs Frank R . e, .�,_ . _ <br /> oos 7-15 City of Ramsey <br />
