6.0 PROPOSED PROJECT SCOPE AND SCHEDULE <br /> 6.1 Project Scope <br /> Project Initiation <br /> Upon notice to proceed, Loucks Associates will begin collecting data and interviewing key <br /> stakeholders and public officials. Mr. Hagen and Mr. Andrews will provide regular weekly <br /> progress updates via telephone or e-mail to the City throughout the process. <br /> Demographic and Economic Data and Forecasts: <br /> Current demographic data will be collected and analyzed. <br /> Population, housing and employment growth will be projected °° <br /> and will be factored into the formulation of a vision for the <br /> °° <br /> community as part of the public input process. Much of the data will be presented graphically. a_®MIMNMilli <br /> UM Mil Ma <br /> Citizen Participation and Visioning Process <br /> Eight meetings are planned to complete the <br /> public input process including the initial kick- <br /> off meeting, one public open house, three <br /> informal task force meetings, one planning <br /> charrette and two public hearings on the <br /> presentation and adoption of the plan update. <br /> A project kick off meeting is proposed with the 4 <br /> Mayor, City Council, Planning Commission, I <br /> Parks Commission, City staff and stakeholders to <br /> obtain input, guidance and consensus on the <br /> comprehensive plan process. <br /> Getting the Word Out <br /> The public-input process is critical to the success of the plan. As such, it is important that <br /> interested citizens have an opportunity to participate. In order to achieve a well-rounded <br /> representation and participation in the process, the project must be well-publicized in an <br /> inviting way. City newsletters, newspaper press releases, mailings, web sites, e-mail, and <br /> personal invitations or phone calls to key stakeholders are great techniques to keep the <br /> community informed. We would propose to manage and write the project communication <br /> and have City staff and public officials helping in the identification of stakeholders and <br /> distribution of the communication. <br /> Open House <br /> A public open house is proposed to generate initial public interest in the project.
