2) Altron Property. A large undeveloped property is owned by Altron Incorporated. Ii' the <br /> property is not developed within the next year, it will be difficult to receive adequate TIF <br /> revenues to cover the cost of land acquisition. Staff is aware of two interested prospects, <br /> each desiring to construct a 50,000 square foot, mutli-tenant building. <br />3) Danny's Tranny. They buyer of Danny's Tranny, St. Paul Terminals, has indicated interest <br /> in expanding to the east. St. Paul Terminals has begun negotiating with the three separate <br /> owners of the property east of Danny's Tranny. <br />4) Gateway Industrial Park No. 5. Staff has been in contact with Communicor, CUlTently <br /> located south of C.R. # 116 and immediately to the east of Unity Street. <br />5) Alloy Recovery. The City of Ramsey displaced Kenko during the construction of 141st Street <br /> and Gateway Industrial Park No.5. Kenko has entered discussions with the City of Ramsey <br /> for the possibility of locating near the Public Works facility. Alloy Recovery is currently for <br /> sale and two neighboring underutilized properties could be used for both Kenko and Northern <br /> Signs, a business currently located in Anoka. <br /> <br />Councihnember Hendriksen stated that there has been some indication that the City would be <br />requested to place Section 29 in a moratorium, he inquired as to what has happened with that. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman replied that the City has not received a formal request. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that he thinks that the City should be moving ahead, ban'ing <br />different advisement fi'om the City Attorney, because there will be requests to build on the site. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec replied that the City should be receiving that request soon. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman inquired if staff could contact the property owners of Altron and <br />Allied Recovery. <br /> <br />Consensus of the Council was to authorize staff contact the property owners. <br /> <br />5) ACCAP & Wetlands Mitigation <br /> <br />Councihnember Hendriksen inquired as to why the City would sell land and then end up having <br />to pay the buyer. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated that the City Engineer included the wetland mitigation in the <br />plans and specifications without staff or the Council being made aware or it. <br /> <br />Councihnember Zimmerman inquired if ACCAP knew that the City would use some of the lands <br />for wetlands. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman replied no. <br /> <br />City Council/May 15, 2001 <br /> Page 7 of 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
