Voting <br />No: Councilmembers Hendriksen and Zimmerman. <br /> <br />Case/113: Report from the Public Works Committee <br /> <br />The Public Works Committee met on Tuesday, October 16, 2001, and discussed the following <br />two cases: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />Potential Rum River Transportation Crossing <br /> <br />Staff gave a background on the concept of a bridge crossing over the Rum River <br />connecting the cities of Andover and Ramsey. Discussion ensued regarding the <br />possibility of reintroducing the future bridge crossing and it was the decision of the <br />Public Works Committee to discuss the matter further when the cities of Andover, <br />Anoka, and Ramsey sit down for an upcoming joint City Council meeting. <br /> <br />Alena Hunter, 14628 Helium Street NW, Ramsey, suggested including the transportation <br />department as well as the school district as part of the discussions. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />Request for Stop Sign at 145th Lane NW and Tungsten Way <br />The Public Works Committee was presented the current traffic conditions at the <br />intersection of 145th Lane NW and Tungsten Way. The conditions do not warrant the <br />installation of an all-way stop condition as requested. Staff recommended against the <br />installation of an all-way stop sign as requested and the Committee concurred. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman, seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen, to ratify the <br />recommendations of the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Hendriksen, <br />Anderson, and Kurak.
