Case #4: <br /> <br />Request to Rezone Property from R-1 Single Family Residential to Planned <br />Unit Development; Case of National Growth <br /> <br />Tabled to the next City Council meeting. <br /> <br />Case #4A: <br /> <br />Consider Accepting Donation from Lions Club for a Building in Central <br />Park (Case #10) <br /> <br />Gordy Berger, representative of The Ramsey Lions Club, stated The Lions Club has always been <br />a strong promoter of the City of Ramsey. It will be the City's decision on what to do with the <br />funds donated by The Lions. <br /> <br />Tim Curran, president of The Ramsey Lions Club, stated the new building at Central Park will be <br />a landmark building in the City. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook stated the City is grateful for this donation and a fund should be earmarked <br />tbr the building with this donation. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey, to accept the donation of <br />funds fi'om the Lions Club with a fund to be earmarked for the building in Central Park. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Pro Tem Elvig, Councilmembers Cook, Jeffrey, Olson, <br />Pearson, and Strommen. Voting No: None. Absent: Mayor Gamec. <br /> <br />Case #4B: <br /> <br />Consider Authorizing Bids for Improvement Project 02-34, Ramsey <br />Municipal Parking Facility (Case #17) <br /> <br />Assistant Public Works Director Olson explained the design for Improvement Project #02-34, <br />Ramsey Municipal Parking Facility is nearing completion with completion of the design <br />documents scheduled for the first week in June 2005. LSA Design is preparing plans, as well as <br />assisting in the advertisement process and acting as project manager to ensure quality control <br />throughout the project. This project includes the construction of a 180,000 square foot facility <br />that will provide 590 parking stalls in a four story parking ramp. He stated the final site plan was <br />approved on May 10, 2005. The feasibility study for this project was presented to the City and a <br />public hearing was held at the February 22, 2005 City Council meeting. <br /> <br />Assistant Public Works Director Olson noted the Engineer's probable construction cost estimate <br />has been lowered from $7,400,000 to $7,388,000, which includes construction contingency. <br />Staff's recommendation is to authorize staff to proceed with the bidding process by advertising <br />the project in the Anoka County Union and Construction Bulletin. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Pearson, to approve Resolution <br />#05-05-140, Authorizing Advertisement for Bids for Project #02-34, Ramsey Municipal Parking <br />Facility. <br /> <br />City Council/May 24, 2005 <br /> Page 7 of 26 <br /> <br /> <br />
