Principal Planner Trudgeon replied that all approvals would be contingent upon receiving the <br />Comprehensive Plan amendment. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Councilmember Anderson, to adopt Resolution <br />#01-10-397 authorizing staff to submit the Comprehensive Plan Amendment to the Metropolitan <br />Council. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Hendriksen inquired as to what would be included in the <br />amendment. Principal Planner Trudgeon reviewed the sketch plat identifying the area that would <br />be included in the Comprehensive Plan amendment. Councilmember Hendriksen inquired as to <br />how long the amendment process was. Mayor Gamec replied that the City has a 60-day reviewal <br />process. Councilmember Zimmerman inquired if the only area that would be included in the <br />Comprehensive Plan amendment would be on the property that Lord of Life owns. Principal <br />Planner Trudgeon replied yes. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Kurak, Anderson, Hendriksen, <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman, to table <br />action on Cases 13, 14, and 16, pending decision from the Met Council on the Comprehensive <br />Plan amendment. <br /> <br />Further discussion: City Attorney Goodrich stated that the Council could act on the site plan, <br />height variance and introduce the rezoning at this time. <br /> <br />Motion failed. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Hendriksen, and Zimmerman. Voting No: Mayor <br />Gamec, Councilmembers Anderson, and Kurak. <br /> <br />Case #13: <br /> <br />Request for a Variance to Height Restrictions For an Apartment Building; <br />Case of Lord of Life Church; Continued <br /> <br />The Council reviewed the findings of fact making the following changes: <br /> <br />13. Change to "do not" <br />14. That if granted, the variance will not grant special privilege that is denied to other owners of <br /> lands, structures or buildings within the City. <br />15. Change to "will not" <br />16. Change to "will not" <br />17. Change to "will not" <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen inquired if Fire Chief Kapler felt that #17 should read "will not". <br /> <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Kapler replied that he could support the variance if the aerial <br />ladder truck remains in the 2002 budget. <br /> <br />City Council/October 23, 2001 <br /> Page 20 of 24 <br /> <br /> <br />
