Council Member introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION # AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE A PATROL OFFICER WHEREAS, On March 22, 2005, staff received Council authorization to recruit for a patrol officer; and WHEREAS, this recruitment is necessary due to the retirement of Jim Balabon, which was effective June 30, 2005; and WHEREAS, staff has conducted a recruitment process and is recommending that the City Council grant authorization to hire a candidate at a wage not to exceed $19.05 per hour. WHEREAS, this appointment would be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background investigation, psychological exam and a pre-employment physical and drug screen. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RA'MSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: Confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to do the following: Grant authorization to staff to hire a patrol officer at an hourly wage not to exceed $19.05. The selected individual will begin employment on or after August 1,2005 and the individual's name will be presented to the City Council for ratification at the July 26, 2005 City Council meeting.
