Commissioner Shryock thought they could include this in the newsletter and solicit information. <br /> <br />Commissioner Pontius wondered how many dog licenses are issued in the City and thought they <br />could get information from that to see if there are more large or small breed dogs to determine <br />what kind of park to put in. <br /> <br />Commissioner Olds suggested having a smaller area for small dogs and a larger area for the large <br />breed dogs. He thought they could use an acre or two for the park. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns stated they had to fence in whatever they do. <br /> <br />Commissioner Lehman wondered what the permits were and what the cost was for them. <br /> <br />Civil Engineer II Linton stated Three Rivers has an annual park pass for $30.00 per household <br />and some have a liability release that has to be signed and making sure ail shots are current. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns indicated she would like more information brought back. <br /> <br />Civil Engineer II Linton thought there should also be drinking water at the park and maybe a <br />small pool for the dogs to cool off in. <br /> <br />Commissioner Lehman thought citizen interest is there for a dog park. He thought it would be a <br />good idea to put it in the newsletter because it would also get information from non-dog owners <br />regarding this. - <br /> <br />Civil Engineer II Linton stated he would come up with a survey and bring it back to 'the 'next <br />meeting. . <br /> <br />Commissioner Shryock thought they may have some extended trails where people could bring <br />the dogs to keep them off the main trails and it Would not need to be fenced in. <br /> <br />Case #2: Update on Lions Donation for Building in Central Park <br /> <br />Civil Engineer II Linton stated the Ramsey Lions Club has made two presentations to the Park <br />and Recreation Commission regarding replacing the concession stand in Central Park. The <br />existing concession stand floor is slightly below the adjacent grade and water collects on the <br />floor during and after rain events. The building is too small to serve the needs of the armual <br />community picnic. , <br /> <br />The Lions Club made a presentation to the City. Council and the Council moved to accept the <br />donation. Staff has been directed to work with the Lions Club to facilitate construction of a new <br />building. <br /> <br />Chairperson Jotms stated at their last meeting, they discussed investigating improving the current <br />building as well and are they going to do this. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission/July 14, 2005 <br /> Page 3 of 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
