A UTItORIZE CONTRACT FOR METAL ROOFING FOR CONSTRUCTION <br />OF NEW RAMSEY MUNICIPAL CENTER <br /> By: Heidi A. Nelson, Asst. City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />As Council will recall, based upon the bids received for division RM-3072 Metal Roofing, the decision <br />was made to re-bid this division further clarifying the scope of work and contractor qualifications. <br />'l'his process has been completed, the bid opening was held at Ramsey City Hall on Thursday, <br />September 8th at 2:30 p.m.; three bids were received. The following is a summary of the bids received: <br /> <br />M.G. McGrath <br />l)alco Roofing & Sheet Metal <br />lnnowitive Building Concepts, Inc. <br /> <br />Base: $383,508 Alt.: $43,088 <br />Base: $402,170 Alt.: $45,185 <br />Base: $474,340 Alt. $31,450 <br /> <br />Thc budget established for this bid division at the time of the bond sale was $446,776. With the bids <br />received on September 8th, We are well within the budget for this construction division. By adding the <br />alternate lbr the zinc alloy roofing materials, the total for this division would be $426,596; allowing for <br />thc additional $20,180 in the budget to be transferred to the Construction Contingency. A change <br />order in tire amount of $5,250 would also be required for the RM-1071 Fully Adhered EPDM Roofing <br />and Sheet Metal contract that was awarded to S.G.O. Roofing and Construction if Council chooses to <br />select thc zinc alloy material for the change to zinc alloy sheet metal flashing from the base bid <br />anodized metal. <br /> <br />StaW is recommending awarding the contract to M.G. McGrath Company for the metal roofing with <br />the zinc alloy alternate for a total contract amount of $426,596. An award recommendation packet <br />prepared by 3 D/I is attached for Council review. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> Authorize contract for RM-3072 Metal Roofing for new Ramsey Municipal Center <br />construction with the following contractor for the stated amount: <br /> <br /> M.G.
