Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by CoUncilmember Zimmerman, to recommend that the City
Council authorize HKGi to perform a Highway #10 Redevelopment Planning Study Second
Addendum to include the areas south of Highway #10 including the Anoka County Regional
Park at a cost not to exceed $5,000.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Anderson,
Hendriksen, and Kurak. Voting No: None.

Case #3:

Receive and Accept Quotes for Conference Room Table and Chairs for City
Hall Conference Room

Assistant City Administrator Moore-Sykes stated that on May 1, 2001, the Engineering
Department was moved upstairs to what had previously been the Council Chambers.
Engineering has one-half of the large room; therefore, the City Hall now has an opportunity to
utilize the remaining portion of the Chambers as a conference room. Staff was directed to look
into purchasing a conference room table and chairs. Staff specified a boat-shaped table, large
enough to seat twelve participants and the corresponding number of conference chairs. It was
determined that since these chairs will not be used as task or work station chairs, the conference
chairs were required to only have lever height adjustment options. The following are the
companies that submitted quotes for a conference table, chairs or both table and chairs.

Company Table
· Commercial Environments, Inc. $1,i 93.00
· Innovative Furniture Solutions $'1,449.00
· Office Depot Not aVailable
· General Office Products (estimate) $1,000

Chairs (12)
$172.80/each; $2,073.60
Not available
$337.00/each; $4,044.00
$350.00/each; $4,200.00

Assistant City Administrator Moore-Sykes ~noted that $6,000 was authorized in the 2001 General
Fund Budget

Councilmember Zimmerman inquired if'the~ CoUncil ever approved a plan for the old Council
chambers. He stated that he did not reCall a conference room being approved for that area and
felt that the downstairs could be used for a conference area.

Assistant City Administrator Moore-Sykes replied that it is possible for staff to use the
downstairs on some occasions, but it is not alWays available.

Councilmember Hendriksen stated that the Council had given direction to the City Administrator
to put together an overall plan for City Hall in general and, at that time, there was discussion in
regards to a conference room being located in that area, but no formal action was taken.

Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen, to recommend that City
Council approve the quote as submitted by Commercial Environments, Inc.

Further discussion: Mayor Gamec stated that a conference area is needed at City Hall and the
tables and chairs are also needed regardless of the location. Councilmember Hendriksen agreed

Finance Committee/May 8, 2001
