driveways was reduced from two to one per street frontage. This' is logical for all lots created <br />under the new standards, which would be similar in size to urban lots. However, most of the <br />existing properties in the Rural Developing District are at least an acre in size and'thus, staff has <br />also revised the bulk standards to specify that clustered lots are limited to one driveway per street <br />frontage but that all existing (non-clustered) lots are limited to two driveways. He advised the <br />Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on September 1, 2005. The Planning <br />Commission and City Staff recommend approval of the proposed amendments to City 'Code <br />Section 9.20.11 (R-1 Residential District). <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Jeffrey, seconded by Councilmember Elvig, to introduce an <br />ordinance to amend City Code Section 9.20.11 (R- 1 Residential D/strict). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Jeffrey, Elvig, Cook, Olson, <br />Pearson, and Strommen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #8: Adopt Ordinance to Extend the No Wake Zone on the Rum River <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec indicated the adoption of this ordinance will extend the slow no wake zone from <br />the AnokaJRamsey limits to the 5.2-mile marker. The City of Ramsey and Anoka entered into a <br />joint powers a~eement on July 5 to establish the Slow no wake zone. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Elvig, to adopt Ordinance//05- <br />22 Regulating Watercrafts and Establishing Section 5.18 Watercraft Regulations to Chapter 5 of <br />the City Code of Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig inquired if it is the City's obligation to place signage regarding the no <br />wake zone. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Trudgeon replied the signage will be posted by the Sheriff's <br />Department. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec noted the City will likely need to maintain the signs after they are posted. <br /> <br />A roll call vote was performed by the Recording Secretary: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec: aye <br />Councihnember Cook: aye <br />Councilmember Elvig: aye <br />Councilmember Jeffrey: aye <br />Councilmember Olson: aye <br />Councilmember Pearson: aye <br />Councilmember Strommen: aye <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />P62 <br /> <br />City Council / September 13, 2005 <br /> Page 18 of 33 <br /> <br /> <br />
