Associate Planner Dalnes stated there is; she indicated that neighbor had no problem with it; they <br />.iust wanted to make sure the property line was accurately defined. <br /> <br />Ctmirperson Nixt asked if access to the garage would be from this ingress/egress, or if the <br />intention is to skirt the drain field. <br /> <br />Mr. Randall indicated access would be from 171st Lane. <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt asked if the applicant was aware that a permit was needed from the holder of <br />thc casement. <br /> <br />M,'. Randall stated he is aware of that requirement. <br /> <br />Commissioner Van Scoy asked what type of equipment would be stored in the garage. <br /> <br />Randall indicated he has a tractor, a plow, and lawn accessories he cannot fit in the garage. <br /> <br />Cotmnissioner Van Scoy stated it is a very large building with a very large door. He indicated it <br />seems like it is bigger than it needs to be. <br /> <br />Mr. Randall stated it would not be completely full with what he has now. <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Watson to recommend that the City <br />Council adopt Findings of Fact relating to David and Lynette Randall's request for a conditional <br />usc permit to exceed accessory building size requirements on the property at 7960 171st Lane <br />NW, t'avorable to the applicant. <br /> <br />};urthcr Discussion: Commissioner Brauer indicated he is not against this, but thinks they need <br />to have a guideline of what percentage over the maximum they will allow. He stated this is a <br />30% increase, and questioned at what point they say no. Chairperson Nixt stated he does not <br />recall adjusting the square footage for smaller lots, and he thinks they need to look at them. He <br />indicated they should look at the overages they have allowed and determine what is appropriate <br />and then make applicants show real hardship to go over that. He stated that until they do that, he <br />thinks this is consistent with previous application. Assistant Community Development Director <br />Frolik stated Staff has that information and can provide it to the Planning Commission. <br />Commissioner Van Scoy agreed he would like to see that data. He stated he thinks this building <br />is ovcrsi×ed froln what is needed, but he has a hard time saying no because they have allowed <br />these in tiao past. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Watson, Brauer, Shepherd, and <br />Van Scoy. Voting No: None.
