(kmncilmembcr introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #05-11 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CONTRIBUTION TO THE RAMSEY <br /> FOUNDATION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has established a Sister City relationship with <br />tine City of I,oudi, China; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a group of community and business leaders has been meeting on a <br />regular basis to establish economic development and educational opportunities in support <br /> the relationship between the cities of Loudi and Ramsey; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a foundation has been created to provide funding to the work of the <br />foundation in establishing and growing the economic and educational connections <br />between the two communities; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in an effort to provide initial funding to the work of the Ramsey <br />l.'oundation, thc City Council supports the contribution and furthering the relationship <br />between Loudi, China and the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />l) <br /> <br />That thc City Council of the City of Ramsey authorizes a contribution in the <br />amount of $5,000 to the Ramsey Foundation in support of their work in <br />establishing economic development and educational opportunities between the <br />cities of Loudi, China and the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />'l'hc motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />(kmncihncmber , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor <br />lhcrcof: <br /> <br />and thc following voted against the same: <br />and the tbllowing abstained: <br />and the lbllowing were absent: <br /> <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City <br />(;ouncil this the 7m day of November 2005. <br /> <br /> <br />
