Comnissioner Slu'yock stated she liked the idea of Elmcrest. She thought this could be used for <br />a Community Center for meetings and they do have a lot of associations in the City that could <br />[tse tl~e building. <br /> <br />Cl~airperson Johns thought this could also fit into Alpine Park. <br />building a mile versus across town would save money. <br /> <br />She wondered if moving the <br /> <br />Engineer II Linton indicated it depended on what the cost would be to lower utilities. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ostrum did not think the Parks Commission would have a problem with moving <br />thc,, bui lding to a park but it would lose its historical designation. <br /> <br />Commissioner Olds thought if the building were to be moved from the site, he would like to see <br />~-;ome preservation of the trees surrounding it. · <br /> <br />Case ~2: Park Dedication of Preliminary Plat of Summerset Meadow· <br /> <br />Civil E~gineer II Linton explained Pulte Homes has submitted the Preliminary Plat for <br />,~;umn~erset Meadows. The project was introduced as a sketch Plan last spring. The project <br />required an Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) which was reviewed by the City <br />Council on July 26, 2005. The determination was made that further environmental review is not <br />required. The project also required an EAW for the sanitary sewer extensiOn which: was <br />reviewed by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. The determination on this project was <br />recently received allowing this project to go forward. The project site is west of Armstrong <br />Botdevard and south of Alpine Drive. The proposed corridor for the Mississippi River Crossing <br />lrax, erses the site and right-of-way for this connection is reServed in the plat, <br /> <br />Commissioner Olds stated on the preliminary plat there is a parcel off of puma Street which is <br />~ot included in the development. He wondered how this would fall into having a parking lot <br />thence. - <br /> <br />Civil Engineer II Linton stated additional detail would need t° be Worked out before final plat. <br /> <br />Ch:t/rpczrson Johns wondered how many acres the park would be. <br /> <br />(:ivil ]';ngineer II Linton stated they are proposing 4.25 acres which is where the soccer field sits <br /> ~ <br /> <br />Chairperson Olds wondered what the townhome density was on the comer. <br /> <br />Ci.v)l ]Sagineer H Linton stated the overall density is 6 units per acre.
