Mn.DOT has reviewed this request and deten'nined this bonus payment to be appropriate. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowsld advised at the present time there are two pay estimates that need to be <br />processed in order to finalize this project. He reviewed the summary of the two pay estimates. <br />'City Engineer Jankowsld advised_ the work associated with this project was separated into three <br />individual projects, each with sUbcategories for road and storm sewer improvements, plus an <br />additional desig-nation for City water and sewer improvements. The £~rst five project categories <br />have an 80% federal reimbursement and the Sunwood Drive storm Sewer,. payment ~oup 6 is <br />being reimbursed 44%. The total payment to the contractor will be $39,171:0'7. The City share <br />of' this amount will be $15,841.2~- with $9.942.18 of this amount attributable to the sewer and <br />water trunk fund.. The remaining $5,899.06 would be taken from the .Public Improvement <br />Revolving (PIR) fund. He advised staff recommends payment to ZR.ichard Knutson Inc. of partial <br />payment voucher 12 in the amount of $33,595.0'7, and final payment voucher 13 in the amount <br />of' $5,576.00 and the reimbursement from federal funds be .submitted in the amount of <br />$2o,3_9.8.~. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to recommend Richard Knutson <br />Inc. Absent: Chairperson Eivig. <br /> <br />C O MMITTEE/STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />Barium Street Closure <br /> <br />Assistant Public WOrks Director Olson reported he was contacted by Mike 'Kelly of Anoka <br />County who is completing the land acquisition for the sig-nal at CR 116 and Dysprosium Street <br />and the road upgrade. Mr. Kelly met with the Mallard Ponds Townhouse Association regarding' <br />temporary easements along the north side of CR 116. The Association has requested that' the <br />County close Barium Street. Assistant Public Works Director Olson noted fhere was significant <br />discussion by the Council about the closing of Barium Street. The determination yeas to allow <br />the Barium Street access to be closed as part of the signalization project; however the'project is <br />being delayed until next year due to r/ght-of-way issues. The County contacted the City to <br />determine if they would have any issues with the barricading of Barium Street. He advised the <br />County is in support of access closures and is willing to proceed with the closure and bandcading <br />of Barium under the County's realm. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Kapler advised from a public safety standpoint staff does not like to see <br />accesses closed off, but they .realize th_is is a very special circumstance. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councihnember Olson, to authoriZe the closure of the <br />Barium Street access to Mallard Ponds as recommended by Anoka County. <br /> <br />Public Works committee/October i8, 2005 <br /> Page 6 of 8 <br /> <br />-646- <br /> <br /> <br />
