Commissioner Ostrum suggested residents be asked to identify their location on the map and <br />express their concerns for that area. <br /> <br />Commissioner Rolfe suggested a larger board advising of the lawful gambling fund and how <br />those dollars are used for funding of park improvements. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ostrum agreed and suggested that a display board also be created listing how the <br />funds have been used in the past. <br /> <br />Commissioner Asfahl suggested that job applications be made available during the Expo. <br />Commissioner Ostrum concurred suggested a listing of job opportunities also be displayed. <br /> <br />Chairperson Cook stated it would be nice to have a spokesperson available to talk about their <br />experience with park improvements. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos advised of Commissioner LaMere's request for an early <br />assignment since he has something else scheduled for that afternoon. <br /> <br />After discussion, the following schedule was determined: <br /> <br /> 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. <br />10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. <br />11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. <br />12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Commissioners Johns and LaMere <br />Commissioners Asfahl and Ostrum <br />Chairperson Cook and Commissioner Rolfe <br />Commissioner Droegemueller <br /> <br />Case #4: Note Central Park's Playground Project <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos reviewed the case that went to the Finance Committee and City <br />Council on April 11, 2000 regarding bids for Central Park's playground project. He advised that <br />after hearing the presentation by Karen Slice of her two bids which included a payment of $350 <br />plus volunteers for installation, Mr. Gruber withdrew his bid and the Council ended up awarding <br />both bids to Ms. Slice for $350 plus the removal and installation of the Central Park playground <br />structure. He stated he provided Ms. Slice with photocopies of the play structures and she was <br />confident her family and other volunteers were capable of completing the installation. <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos stated staff will have to be careful how this is scheduled to assure <br />the play structure is installed properly and in a timely manner so there are play activities <br />available during this peak park use season. <br /> <br />Commissioner Rolfe asked who will be the superintendent of the installation. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos stated that Ms. Slice will be plus St. Croix Recreation will <br />provide a staff member to assure it is properly installed and there are no liability concerns after <br />the installation.
