Councihnember Hendriksen suggested sending a letter to all adjacent properties explaining the <br />interest that has been expressed in acquiring the additional land to determine who would be <br />interested in the land. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated that the letter should include what the terms of the sale would be. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman replied that they would need to have some idea of what the land is <br />worth. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski suggested using the appraisal the City received when they acquired the <br />land. <br /> <br />Councihnember Hendriksen wants to verify that ACCAP is giving the use of the property to the <br />City without affecting the sale price to ACCAP. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated that Staff needs to come to some sort of conclusion as to <br />what the uses of the land would be and recommended not selling any of the property until <br />Sunwood Drive is extended. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman noted that he will assign the Community Development Director to <br />review possible land uses. <br /> <br />Councihnember Hendriksen requested that the Park and Recreation Commission review the <br />possibility of a weigh station. <br /> <br />Case #1: Update on Water Tower No. 2 (Improvement Project #99-64) <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated that staff has met with AEC Engineering to initiate the design <br />work on the elevated tank. Since this particular water utility improvement will require the most <br />time to complete, 23 months according to the schedule submitted with the proposal, staff feels it <br />is important to avoid any delays. <br /> <br />John Bushar, AEC Engineering, presented the Committee with the general styles of water towers <br />available and the four types of storage tanks the City is considering. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen inquired as to the pros and cons of constructing a concrete tower. <br /> <br />Mr. Bushar replied that the maintenance costs with concrete would be lower.
