Funding Source: The project cost estimate is $218,730. This includes 5% indirect costs for administrative, engineering, legal and financing. The City annually budgets $200,000 for crack seal and pavement rejuvenator improvements and as always staff strives to spend all $200,000 to maintain all paved streets as cost-effectively as possible. In 2023, Staff proposes to apply all 2023 pavement rejuvenator improvements to streets on the City's Municipal State Aid System and to therefore pay for the improvements using State Aid Funds, leaving the entire budgeted amount of $200,00 to fund the proposed 2023 Crack Seal Improvements project. Staff targeted a project cost in excess of $200,000 with hopes that the lowest bid received is less than the engineer's estimate and that all of the proposed crack seal improvements can be completed. However, if the low bid exceeds $200,000, staff can remove segments as needed from the 2023 Crack Seal Improvements project to reduce project costs to $200,000. Recommendation: Staff recommends adopting Resolution #23-048 approving plans and specifications and authorizing advertisements for bids for Improvement Project #23-08, 2023 Crack Seal Improvements.
