Councilmember Hendriksen replied that he anticipates the event will be more popular this year <br />than last year and he was concerned that they will have ~fewer trained people. <br /> <br />Gary Gruber, Diamonds Sports Bar and Grill, explained that last year they hired ASIA Security <br />to assist with the event, but most of the people from ASIA were less qualified than his own staff. <br />Last year the staff from ASIA worked solely in the parking lot which this year will be handled by <br />the Ramsey Lions Club. Not at any time was a staff member from ASIA in the facilities. <br /> <br />Councilmember Connolly inquired as to how many security people will be present. <br /> <br />Mr. Gruber replied that there will be 14 people for security, 6 to 8 addressing wristbands, 2 <br />Police Officers, and an EMT on the site. <br /> <br />Councihnember Anderson stated that the amount of security needed can depend on the type of <br />bands that will be playing. <br /> <br />Mr. Gruber explained that last year they went with a classic alternative rock from the 1980's and <br />this year they are going after the 30-to-40-year-old age group. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman, seconded by Councilmember Connolly, to adopt <br />Resolution #00-06-158 approving the issuance of a music festival license to Diamonds Sports <br />Bar an'd Grill, Inc. <br /> <br />Motion can'ied. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Connolly, <br />Anderson, and Hendriksen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec recessed the regular City Council meeting at 9:10 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular City Council meeting back to order at 9:23 p.m. <br /> <br />Case #3: 3.2 Percent Malt Liquor License Renewal <br /> <br />Police Chief Gustafson stated that applications for renewal of the following licenses were <br />received and deemed to be in order: <br /> <br />Off-Sale 3.2 Percent Malt Liquor <br /> <br />#00-01 <br />#00-02 <br />#00-03 <br />#00-04 <br /> <br />Bill's Superette 15299 St. Francis Boulevard NW <br />Oasis Market #535 14550 Armstrong Boulevard NW <br />Super America #4508 14000 St. Francis Boulevard.NW <br />Ralnsey Amoco 6360 Highway #10 NW <br /> <br />City Council/June 27, 2000 <br />Page 13 of 26 <br /> <br /> <br />
