He felt there should be some latitude for residents who buy a lot of acreage. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik inquired if it was City Council discretion to determine <br />the amount of animals allowed in the conditional use permit. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich replied that if the ordinance states no more than two farm animals <br />allowed the City Council cannot approve more than two. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen inquired as to the status of the Horse Care Board. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik replied that the Horse Care Board has elapsed. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec suggested having the Planning Commission review the ordinance, because the <br />Horse Care Board would probably be tough to get together. <br /> <br />Councihnember Hendriksen stated that the Horse Care Board should be reestablished so that they <br />can deal with issues like these. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman suggested contacting the present members of the Horse Care Board <br />to see if they want to be actively involved otherwise advertise for new members. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Connolly, to table action <br />until the item can be reviewed by the Horse Care Board. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Hendriksen, Connolly, Anderson, <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #8: Introduce Sidewalk Ordinance <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos stated that on March 14, 2000, City Council received a proposed <br />Sidewalk Ordinance forwarded by both the Park and Recreation and Planning Commissions. <br />Upon discusgion, Council directed that the Commissions revisit the proposed ordinance. The <br />Commission conducted a joint meeting in April and created a committee to further the <br />examination. After two committee meetings, the Planning Commission conducted a Public <br />Hearing ou the resulting draft ordinance. Following the Public Hearing, both the Park and <br />Recreation Commission and Planning Commission recommended City Council adopt the revised <br />Sidewalk Ordinance. The substantial changes from the last draft were: The sidewalk width is <br />standardized at five feet and the material is concrete. Previously the width was eight feet and the <br />construction either bituminous or concrete. A maintenance section was added which declares <br />that any maintenance would be dealt with as part of the annual budget. The purpose of this <br />Ordinance amendment is to assist with design and approval of urban residential subdivisions <br />until all of Subdivision 9 of City Code can be revised to reflect an approved Comprehensive <br /> <br />City Council/June 27, 2000 <br />Page 17 of 26 <br /> <br /> <br />
