on to say that he would recommend natural gas generators whenever possible because they <br />provide an unlimited supply of fuel, there are not costs associated with spill control, and the <br />unlimited supply of fuel can be used to shave costs during periods of peak electrical demand. <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson inquired if the generator would have an electrical start. <br /> <br />City Engineer Olson replied that he would assume that the generator would start with a battery. <br /> <br />Director of Public Works Kapler stated that the generator is designed to start when the electricity <br />goes out, but will verify how the generator is started. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Connolly, to adopt <br />Resolution #00-08-225 awarding the contract including installation of a generator and <br />construction of Wellhouse No. 3 to Infinity Builders Corporation in the amount of $503,300.00. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #11: <br /> <br />Authorize Staff to Work with Masonry Contractor to do Tuckpointing on the <br />Exterior Masonry of the Old Town Hall <br /> <br />This item was removed from the agenda. <br /> <br />Case #12: Report from Public Works Committee <br /> <br />1) Discussion of Speed Humps on Dysprosium Street NW <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated that staff reported that the office of State Aid MnDOT <br />recently contacted staff requesting a response to the December 1, 1999 letter, from their office <br />requesting the removal of the speed humps from Dysprosium Street NW. The recommendations <br />of the Public Works Committee regarding this issue were as follows: Schedule a meeting with <br />MnDOT to view the actual hump installation and prepare a case for discussion at the September <br />13, 2000 City Council meeting. Second, inform the neighborhood residents of the proposal to <br />remove the humps and inform them of the meetings with MnDOT and the Council. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Connolly, seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
