Case #4: <br /> <br />Award Contract for Improvement Project #99-67, Mississippi River <br />Stormwater Subdrainage District No. 1 <br /> <br />Director of Public Works Kapler stated that on Wednesday, September 6, 2000, bids were <br />opened for Improvement Project #99~67, Mississippi River Stormwater Subdrainage District No. <br />1. This project involves the installation of storm sewer for the area between County Road #57 <br />and the eastern City limits north of Trunk Highway #10 NW. Because several utility easements <br />need to be acquired for the portion of the project west of the Zitco property, this project has been <br />formatted as such that completion of the eastern half of the project will occur this fall while the <br />remaining portion will be completed during the spring of 2001. This will allow adequate time to <br />obtain the necessary easements for the western half through eminent domain procedures which <br />have been initiated. Eleven bids were received on Wednesday, September 6, 2000, a summary of <br />the bidding is as follows: <br /> <br />· Meadowvale Construction <br /> Northdale Construction <br />· Barbarossa and Sons, Inc. <br />· Burschville Construction <br />· W.B. Weidema, Inc. <br />· Richard Knutson, Inc. <br />· Volk Sewer & Water <br />· Randy Kramer Excavating <br />· Lametti & Sons, Inc. <br /> <br />$294,128.00 <br />$317,128.24 <br />$336,525.35 <br />$348,276.85 <br />$353,186.50 <br />$356,949.50 <br />$372,698.76 <br />$373,777.22 <br />$392,393.55 <br />$397,770.05 <br />$448,715.15 <br /> <br />Director of Public Works Kapler stated that staff recommended awarding the contract for <br />Improvement Project #99-67, Mississippi River Stormwater Subdrainage District No. 1 to the <br />lowest responsible bidder, Meadowvale Construction in the amount of $294,128. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich requested that the motion be made subject to his confirmation that the <br />easements have been obtained. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman, to adopt <br />Resolution #00-09-233 awarding the contract for the construction of Improvement Project #99- <br />67, Mississippi River Stormwater Subdrainage District No. 1 to Meadowvale Construction in the <br />amount of $294,128, subject to the confirmation by the City Attorney that the easements have <br />been obtained. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
