VI. Public Hearing - 9:21 P.M. Seal Coating Gorham's Service <br />Road Project #81-11 <br />City Engineer Raatikka discussed the proposed consideration <br />of seal coating. <br />Mayor Gamec asked for citizen input. <br />Citizen Al Kemp, 15220 St. Francis Boulevard N.W., stated <br />the street had already been sealcoated about 5 years ago. <br />Mayor Gamec stated traffic determines longevity; the more <br />traffic the longer duration, the less traffic, more cracking. <br />Patching expense is funded by the city. <br />Citizen Kemp asked if there was a fund for seal coating <br />by the City. <br />Mayor Gamec stated no. <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman <br />Sorteberg to close the public hearing. <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilman Cox, <br />Councilwoman Van Wagner, Councilman Reimann, Councilman <br />Sorteberg. Voting no: None. <br />The public hearing was closed.at 9:29 P.M.. <br />VII. Public Hearing - 9:37 P.M. Seal Coating Woodland Green. <br />Project 81 -12 <br />City Engineer Raatikka- discussed the proposed consideration <br />of seal coating. <br />0 Mayor Gamec stated.the city is responsible for patching and <br />repairing of cracks and asked for citizen input. <br />Citizen John Holmquist, 15516 Erkium St. N.W., came before <br />the Council and asked why this expense could not come out <br />of the general fund. <br />Mayor Gamec.stated the City still has many dirt streets and <br />the Council agreed to do -it this way. <br />Citizen Glen Hambeschmidt came before the Council and <br />asked why assessment not sent to everybody. <br />Mayor Gamec stated the City does blacktopping by petition <br />only now and the City gets a lot of petitions for blacktopping. <br />Citizen Arvin Wendt came before the Council and asked <br />if the City gets a lot of bids.. <br />Mayor Gamec stated the City gets as many bids as possible and <br />has high estimates. <br />SpC /June 30, 1981 <br />1 A <br />
