CASE #14: N EWSLETTER :
Several weeks /months ago, the Council requested that they
be informed prior to the printing of the newsletter. Accordingly,
I had a letter sent out to each Councilmember on July 20, 1981
informing you of this and if you had anything that y ou
put in the newsletter to please get it to the City Office by
July 31, 1981.
Council Action No action required unless you want something
put 'inthe newsletter.
CASE #15: WESTPHAL CONSTRUCTION COMPANY REGARDING EASEMENT PAYMENT:
The City Attorney will address this case at the Council meeting.
CASE 016: APPOINTMENT OF DAIN BOSWORTH AS CITY DEPOSITORY FOR INVESTMENTS:
I am recommending that the Council approve the appointment of
Dain Bosworth as a depository of City investments. Accordingly,
I have requested that they submit a letter to the City of Ramsey.
Accordingly, enclosure (D2 -1) contains the following documentation:
a) Letter dated July 9, 1981 from Dain Bosworth to the
City of Ramsey
b) Proposed resolution for Council to adopt if you approve
of appointing them as a depository of City investments
Council Action: Your action will be to approve /disapprove /amen
a ppoin — fig Dain Bosworth as one of the City's depositories for
investments. The State Bank will still be handling all of the
City's checking and investments if they are the high bidder.
• CASE #17: CITY INSURANCE
This is a policy question - Does the City want to re- advertise
its insurance, as we currently have Insurance Service Center
handling it? We do have other insurance agencies requesting that
they would like a piece of the action. However, it is a very
difficult job to prepare the bid specification and I don't think
we would have the time to do it.
I have checked with Coon Rapids and they use the same a g d s,as we
do and they have asked that agency to just g
Newell Chester, owner of Insurance Service Center, is an insurance
broker and can go out and get bids from many insurance companies.
Frankly, I don't want to get involved in a total advertising for
bids situation because you really have to be a Philadelphia
Attorney to figure out what agency has the low bid. I will follow
whatever you recommend on this issue.
r
Council Action: Your action may be as follows:
