Page-2
The co°rdination between the Ramsey comprehensive plan and
the critical area plan has also been the subject of discussion.
The Governor's Executive Order states that local critical area
plans must be consistent with Metropolitan Council policies.
These policies are outlined in the Council's Development Frame-
work and Water Qualit~ Management planS.
The critical area in Ramsey is designated as both ,,General
, vice" area according to Development
Rural Use" and urban~r_~,~,~ critical area pla~ does not
ework. In addition, the council
advocateS one-in-10-acre use in General Rural Use regions.
The Ramsey critical area plan is inconsistent with Council
policies as the Council determined in its April, 1980 review.
The Critical Area Interim .Development regulations, which
apply to Ramsey,-require a minimum-five-acre lot size'
s, However, the~Interim Regulations~are
in_unsewered-area .... ~ ~.citv adoptS its critical
automatically rev°~e~.w~=~i~ .~litv Board-approves tne-~
area plan andthe Envlronm~=~
regulationS.
Dayton) has been designated
The river corridor in Ramsey .(and as part of the Minnesota
by Department of Natural Resources
wild and Scenic Rivers.
