OtherwSse, your government's payment is in the form of a check mailed today separate~l¥_ from this letter. - Final pa_~vment Cur~Auth°rized; Law Remains in Effect The Office of Revenue Sharing has been provided financing through the Continuing Resolution, P.L. 96-369. This is a bill from the Corrmittee on Appropriations that provides for the orderly operations of Federal activities that otherwise lack authorizations or hppropriations after the beginning of the October 1 fiscal year. In the near future, the Congress intends to act on legislation authorizing future Revenue Sharing l>ayments for which your government rmy be eligible- This legisla- tion is scheduled in the llouse of Representatives for the first week the Congress returns from the election recesS. Both the House- and Senate-passed versions of the llUD-Independent Agencies appropriations bill contain funds for future revenue sharing payments. Final action is also expected on this legislation soon after the Congress reconvenes. The legislation that authorized this and all prior payments made to your government retrains a T~ublic law. This means that your compliance obligations are still in effect under the statement of assurances that you have signed establishing the eligibility of your government to receive revenue sharing funds for Entitlement Period ll and prior periods. Please be sure that your government continues to observe all of the requirements applicable to the use of the Revenue Sharing funds.
