for minor improvements <br /> <br />serve <br /> <br /> wastes to <br />the <br />capable of transporting these and other area sanitary <br />the existing interceptor in Brooklyn Park and then to the MetrO- <br />politan Treatment Plant, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has established a public <br />hearing for June 25, 1981 to consider proposed amendments to the <br />Water Quality Management Guide/Policy Plan, and <br /> WHEREAS, the MWCC has approved and submitted a neW 201 Facil- <br /> ities Plan as part of their 1982-1986 Development Program for a- <br /> sOtary sewer system that includes the 'installation of the CAB <br /> Interceptor under Alternative No. 31, and <br /> wHEREAS, the Physical Development Committee'S proposed re- <br /> commendations for revising the Policy Plan states that "The MWCC <br /> should include in its 1982-1986 Development Program a project to <br /> expand the existing AWWTP to 5.3 MGD (twice the original plant <br /> size), as indicated for Alternative ~o. 17, of the ~orthwest Area <br /> 201 Study, and to add the additional changes to make the Policy <br /> Plan consistent with the above." <br /> <br />~ "~ wHEREAS, the AwWTP has the capacity <br />to accommodate the projected flow'S to 2.46 MGD, and <br /> WHEREAS, the projected plant capacity of 2.46 MGD will <br /> the Anoka, and Ramsey growth until the year 1987, and <br /> wHEREAS, the "Lower" CAB interceptor will be in service under <br /> recommended Alternative No. 31, by the year 198~, and will be <br /> <br /> ~OW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CItY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> that the city doe~ hereby adopt <br />C~ OF ' <br />"Position Statement, cities of Andover-Anoka-Brook]yn Park- <br />Champlin and Ramsey," as a response to the Proposed Amendments <br />to the Water Quality Plan and present the Statement at the public <br />nearing on June 25, 1981, and <br /> 'FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that the Metropolitan Council accept <br /> and adopt the follwolng recommended Amendments to the Water .Quality <br /> Management Policy Plan, adopted March 9, ~979; <br /> <br /> 1. The first two paragraphs under ,,RecommendationS" for the <br /> Mississippi River Treatment Plants and Service AreaS, <br /> (page 57) of the Water Quality Plan, be deleted and re- <br /> placed by the following; <br /> The MWCC include in its 1982-1986 Development Program <br /> a project to phase out the AwWTP by the year 1987, as <br /> recommended in Alt~rnatlve No..31 of the Northwest Area <br /> <br /> <br />
