The Council and staff discussed the City's internal salary scale in relation to the reallocation of <br />the Public Works Director position. <br /> <br />The consensus of the Council was to direct staff to proceed with the process of the Public Works <br />and Fire Departments reorganization with the contingency of Mr. Olson accepting the Public <br />Works Director position removed from the proposed motion. It should be clear in the resolution <br />that the Public Works Director position is a reallocation and change in duties. The case should <br />be included on the agenda of the next regular City Council meeting. The consensus was also to <br />direct staff to discuss the reallocation and change in duties with Mr. Olson prior to the next <br />Council meeting. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman indicated this case will be included on the agenda of the March 14, <br />2006 City Council meeting. <br /> <br />2) QCTV Council Update Format <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey suggested the format of the Council Update on QCTV include an <br />interaction between two Councilmembers, and possibly a staff member to discuss interesting <br />topics or planning projects in the City. <br /> <br />Councilmember Strommen left at 5:15 p.m. <br /> <br />The consensus of the Council was to change the format of the Council Update to include the <br />QCTV representative and two Councilmembers. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook expressed concern with the comments being made during public hearings <br />at Planning Commission meetings. He stated most of the negative comments that are made are <br />misinformation. He suggested the City be proactive and inform the public about issues such as <br />cluster developments through QCTV. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig commented on the need for the Councilmembers to provide information to <br />the public during the Council meetings. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec noted the Ramsey Resident is the City's best vehicle to inform the public. He <br />indicated he has talked to QCTV about the possibility of a program that would include <br />interviews with City staff members. <br /> <br />MAYOR, COUNCIL AND STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />Population Figures on City Signs <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec reported he has received requests for revisions to be made to the population figure <br />on the City's signs. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman indicated staff will provide the Council with a report, which will <br />include information on the most recent census data. <br /> <br />City Council Work Session / March 7, 2006 <br /> Page 4 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
